O ye incorporeal angels who stand before the throne of God, luminous with the brilliance thereof and everlastingly shining with radiance. As secondary luminaries, entreat Christ, that He grant unto our souls peace and great mercy. O immortal messengers of the truly incorruptible Life, ye most blessed ones who received life from the first Life, ye have become holy beholders of the eternal Wisdom, full of light, and reflecting lamps shown forth as is meet. O ye archangels and angels, principalities, thrones, dominions, six-winged seraphim, and divine, many-eyed cherubim, instruments of wisdom, virtues and powers most divine. Pray ye to Christ, that He grant our souls peace and great mercy. Archives:

HOLY RESURRECTION BYZANTINE CATHOLIC MISSION
GLORY TO JESUS CHRIST! GLORY FOREVER! MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL PEOPLES... We welcome all visitors among us always! We hope you find our worship true and reverent and our people here friendly and cordial. If you are seeking a spiritual home, we would be honored by your presence in our family. We are glad you chose to worship with us. A VERY WARM WELCOME TO OUR BELOVED ARCHBISHOP HIS EMINENCE METROPOLITAN BASIL. MAY GOD GRANT HIM MANY YEARS IN PEACE AND HAPPINESS. September 29, 2002 - 19th Sunday after Pentecost - Commemoration of Our Holy Father Cyriacus the Anchorite - Cyriacus, born in Corinth, came to the holy city of Jerusalem at the age of eighteen to receive the habit of a monk from the hands of Euthymius the Great. He headed for a while the monastery of St. Chariton. After opposing the heretical views of Origen, he fell asleep in great holiness at an advanced age in the year of 556. Today's Divine Liturgy is offered for the health and speedy recovery of Father Thomas O'Connell. Please remember in your prayers the members of our Mission who are ill: Father Thomas O'Connell, Dolores Antcliff, Steve Antcliff, and JoAnn Cuddy.
OUR GIFTS AND TITHES SOLEMN HOLY DAY OCTOBER 1 - FEAST OF THE PATRONAGE OF THE MOTHER OF GOD The Feast of the Patronage of the Mother of God is a reminder to all Christians that we should have recourse to Mary, our Mother. We commemorate the tenth-century appearance of the Theotokos inside the Blachernae Church near Constantinople. The appearance was the culmination of a night of intense prayer by the people to have their city saved from devastation by the Saracens. St. Andrew and his disciple, St. Epiphanius, saw the Virgin Mary appear in a cloud praying with outstretched hands over the congregation. At the conclusion of the prayer she removed her veil and presented it to the faithful as a sign of her motherly intercession for the city's inhabitants. The following day the city was freed from danger. The veil held by the Theotokos, is called the POKROV, and became the symbol of the constant love and protection of the Virgin Mary. September 30, 7:00 PM - at Holy Family - Reader's Vigil Service for the Patronage of the Mother of God. Vigil includes vespers, matins, and the First Hour. Everyone welcome. On Saturday evenings at 6:30 PM, Byzantine vespers are prayed here at Holy Family, when there is no Divine Liturgy that weekend. Everyone is welcome to attend.
SAYINGS FROM THE CHURCH FATHERS
OCTOBER: RESPECT LIFE MONTH / PRAYER FOR LIFE O Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life: Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference our out of misguided mercy. Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of Life with honesty and love to the people of our time. Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.
